Why do I get different values with two successive measurements?

Different values with successive measurements might have different reasons:

  • The pause between the measurements was too short.
  • Blood pressure and pulse rate

Blood pressure and pulse rate depend on a variety of factors that can have short-term influence on the results as well:

Physical influences

  • Psychological influences
  • Physical activity
  • Muscle tension
  • Talking
  • Excitement
  • Noise, etc.

In addition the way of performing the measuring is relevant:

  • Wristband was applied too tight / too loose
  • Wristband was not held on the heart‘s height
  • No optical or acoustic separation
