The basic concept of the realisation is a client-server-architecture. The client‘s application is web-based and thus can be visualised independently from the location and on all web-enabled devices.

The transfer of measurements to the server happens via a gateway on a TCP/IP basis. The transfer from the measuring devices to the gateway happens via IEEE 802.15.4.
The devices save the data in a local memory if they out of the gateway‘s reach and will transfer the data automatically as soon as they are within range (appr. 20m). Thus the devices can also be carried along problem-free. Offering interfaces between hardware (medical devices) and software, the Health Manager Java SDK (Open source) serves as the basis for the connection and control of the devices.

The wireless technology

The transfer of data happens wireless on the basis of IEEE 802.15.4. This particularly power saving technology guarantees a battery lifespan of about three months, despite of the periodic connection of the devices and the server. The bidirectional communication allows the automatic programming and registration of the devices by the server resp. the web application. The system always knows about several parameters (e.g. battery level).

The measuring devices

The myVitali system is optimally adapted to be used with the devices of the company Biocomfort. However, due to the open architecture also devices from other manufacturers can be integrated in short time.
The Biocomfort devices offer the crucial advantage of an automatic data transfer, superseding the manual entering resp. the transfer via memory card. This helps people who are not technically experienced with getting started.
