myVitali is based on a design-for-all approach. Throughout development, we conducted iterative user tests and integrated the results into further system development. The user interface is therefore highly intuitive and easily accessible to elderly people or those without any computer experience.

Design, wording and terminology

Special attention has been directed to the intuitive interaction between users and the system. Large fonts and good contrast make the text easy to read. We have avoided any terms or computer metaphors that people without experience may not be familiar with. This also applies to the meaning of vital values and measures, which are easy to understand without any medical background. For the sake of simplicity the interaction is limited to the most important elements.

Terminal devices for myVitali include TV sets, PCs , touchscreens and smartphones, which makes it possible to cater to a great variety of people with different needs and skills.
